| Honda CBR1100XX The Honda CBR1100XX motorcycle is not really exciting in terms of the colour schemes - black, metallic gray or metallic red monochrome choices. I saw some photos on the internet of the motorcycle with a colour scheme that mimicked the well known CB1100R motorcycle with the red, white and blue traditional Honda racing colours. I decided that it would be the way to spice up this motorcycle. Base Kit(s): Tamiya Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird (kit number 14070) Finished: Feb 2020 Modifications/Additions: - photoetch bolt head for various bodywork fasteners - Scalemotorsports carbon fiber decal for mufflers - Custom decals by Precision Design Co (pdc.ca) - Custom license plate - Bare Metal Foil in turn signals and stop light - Paint is Tamiya pure white over gloss aluminum (to cover the black molded plastic), mica red and mica blue accents, all decanted and airbrushed. Semi-gloss black and dark gray acrylics and Alclad metallics for other parts. Click on Thumbnail to see detailed image.
